SE search strings for key words

BTW… the keyword summary screen lists keywords that appear in the anchor text, so as long as a site has 1,000 or less external backlinks you can get all their anchor text in the summary screen. The link text also appears in the BLA general results page.

To filter links pointing at a page using a specific word that must be contained in the linking document you could search Yahoo! for
link:http://www.seobook.com aaron wall -dadfsad -site:seobook.com (where aaron wall is the keyword)

now lets say you wanted pages that were linked to from other pages with Aaron in the anchor text WHICH also link to my site. That would be
link:http://www.seobook.com inanchor:aaron -dadfsad -site:seobook.com

and lets say you wanted to find pages that linked at my homepage which ALSO use Aaron in the page title
link:http://www.seobook.com intitle:aaron -dadfsad -site:seobook.com

and perhaps you wanted to find pages linking to my site which also had my name in the title of them AND in anchor text pointing at them
link:http://www.seobook.com intitle:aaron inanchor:aaron -dadfsad -site:seobook.com

there are a number of permutations you could do there as well
link:http://www.seobook.com intitleaaron OR seo) inanchor:aaron -dadfsad -site:seobook.com

looking for edu and gov links?
linkdomain:seobook.com inurl:.edu OR inurl:.gov -agsdafsd

want co-citation data? try this
link:http://www.seobook.com link:http://www.seotoday.com -dadfsad -site:seobook.com -site:seotoday.com (you could also use the intitle and inanchor filters if you liked here as well)

finally, you can also increase the # of results shown per page by logging into your Yahoo! account and setting it to 100 results per page OR by adding &n=100 the the address bar after you get the search results, likeso

use the above advanced searches as needed along with a tool like SEO for Firefox and you have a MUCH better free tool than most of the paid tools on the market.

You can search through yahoo backlinks to a site, set the search results to 100 per page (using the &n=100 tip from the above post) and then turn on SEO for Firefox and do the search again. that will import link count data directly into the search results. after it is done importing that then you can sort the results by # of yahoo backlinks.

Digital Media expire long before books.

Digital media has a shorter life span than a book. Information in a book can be stored for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Equipment to retreive information from a floppy drive, tape drive or a card scan card are not as available as they once were. Floppy drives were popluar for only 20 years (1970’s to 1990’). Data needs to be moved on to new media in order to be retained.

Digital media life spans are discussed in months and years, but not centuries.

The historical record will be much harder to maintain with knowledge that begins it’s life digitally.

What say you?
